Video Games - Guy Beats Super Mario NES in Five Minutes

"This Speed run of Super Mario Bros. was done on April 10, 2007. This was done in real-time by a player with an NES. Speed Demos Archive doesn't allow tool assisted runs (or even real time played on an emulator) as per site rules. There was no cheating/hacking involved in making this speed run:

The pipe in 4-2 that takes him to the warp zone is a glitch in the game's programming NOT a cheat.

When he jumps over the piranha plants it looks like he hits them, but he doesn't... try it yourself. The hit detection is nowhere near perfect in this game.
When he wall-jumps off the pipe near the end, thats a glitch too, no cheating necessary.
Finally, when it looks like he jumps right through bowsers hammers, he actually IS jumping through bowsers hammers. Again, this is a glitch in the hit detection.

So while he does exploit the faults and glitches in the programming, there's no other trickery involved. This is nothing that can't be done on the original cartridge/hardware."

He now holds the world record. Pretty amazing.
